Wasyl Komar, age 90, of Bethel Township, PA passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025 at his granddaughters home in Glen Mills, PA. Born in Upper Chichester, Wasyl has resided in Bethel Township, PA for 62 years. Wasyl also know as Bib served his country in the Navy Seabees reserves. He was a cabinet maker, worked at All American Engineering and then joined Local 19 in the Sheet Metal Union where he worked for 35 years. After retiring from the Union he worked for Bethel Township as the Road Master for a number of years. Wasyl had many hobbies, in his early years he enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing poker, golf and especially gardening. Wasyl (Was) also loved sharing all his produce with neighbors, family and friends. Bib also delved into horse racing. He owned a few horses that would race at Brandywine Racetrack. He enjoyed all Philly sports but also had an affection for the Green Bay Packers. For those of you that knew Was you knew a cigar was not far from his mouth, although rarely lit. Wasyl most cherished things in life were his daughter's Debbie and Kim (son in-law Ed). He also had four grandchildren; Jayme, Ronnie, Zack and Ashley whom he adored. Then his great grandchildren became his next joy in his life. They are Ryleigh, Charleigh, Daxx, Otto and Ivy. Wasyl was a very fun loving and loved man. In addition to his parents, Wasyl and Jennie Kolbrich Komar, Wasyl is preceded by his wife Carolyn Birney Komar and brother Philip Komar.
A viewing will be held on Saturday March 1, 2025 from 10AM-12 Noon followed by a funeral service at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley PA 19060. Interment will remain private. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com.
