Sharon Mary Komar, 77, passed away on July 1, 2025, at Jefferson Memory Care.
Sharon Mary Lewitzke was born on August 15, 1947, the daughter of Clifford Lewitzke and Thelma (ne'e johnson). Sharon attended Bay View High School. She met her husband Gerald L. Komar while working at Milwaukee Valve Company. They wed on December 3, 1966. Throughout her career, she worked in the banking industry and also spent time bartending.
Sharon loved horseback riding and found great joy in caring for children, often spending time babysitting. A true social butterfly, she cherished moments shared with family and friends. She delighted in playing cards and held a deep affection for the many animals she loved and rescued throughout the years. Sharon also enjoyed music as she loved to dance. She loved live music especially when her son's band was performing, which brought her tremendous joy and happiness.
Sharon is survived by her children, Jerry "Jake" (Kelly) Komar and Sherrie (Joseph) Erbs; grandchildren, James (Megan Hobbick) Muth, Tabatha (Michael) Gagliardo, Tyler Erbs and Briannah Erbs; great grandchildren, Liam, Charlie, Christain, Ayden and Jaxon; siblings, Jeanine Kubasiak, Craig (Laurel) Famularo, Scott Famularo; brother-in-law, Kenneth Komar; sister-in-law Rowena Famularo; special cousin, Helen Belter; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; Clifford and Thelma, stepmother, Carol Lewitzke; husband, Gerald Komar; brothers, Daniel Lewitzke, Donald Famularo; brother-in-law, Glenn Kubasiak; and special cousin-in-law, Thomas Belter.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. At Hafemeister Funeral Home. Family and friends may gather at Hafemeister Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In honor of Sharon's immense love of animals, memorials, if desired, may be directed to Watertown Humane Society.
