Waylon "Big John" Foister

Mr. Waylon (Big John) Foister, age 76, of Panama City, Florida passed Thursday, June 19, 2025 at his home in Panama City. Waylon was born on December 29, 1948 in Bainbridge, Georgia to Preston Foister and Arvenia (Cross) Foister and was a lifelong resident of Panama City. Waylon was a Building Contractor for several years. Waylon was the kind of man that just loved working, whether building houses, Pickett fences or Chicken coops. He never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. Waylon loved the outdoors and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents Preston Foister and Arvenia (Cross) Foister, two sons, David and Danny young, a sister, Wanda. Waylon was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include: Sister: Judy Foister of Panama City, Florida,Two sons: Johnny Foister of Panama City, Florida, Ricky Young and his wife, Vivian of Panama City, Florida, One daughter: Patrica Carr and her husband, Horace Carr, Jr. of Panama City, Florida, Eleven grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm noon at Peavy Home Chapel in Blountstown, FL. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Panama City, Florida. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
