Wayne Bret Anderson passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on August 29th, 2025. Bret was born March 15th, 1950, in Twin Falls, Idaho to Wayne and Elizabeth Anderson. As his father's career progressed with Idaho Power, Bret and his family lived in several places throughout southern Idaho. Bret graduated from Borah High School in Boise in 1968.

Following High School, Bret attended the University of Idaho and was a proud member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, graduating in 1972. During his junior year, an incoming freshman caught his eye and life changed forever. On August 23rd, 1971, Bret married his best friend and the love of his life, Judy Kennedy.

Bret started his career with Safeway shortly after graduation on December 20, 1972. As Bret worked his way up through various roles at Safeway, a son (Wayne Taylor) and daughter (Angela Beth) were welcomed in 1973 and 1975, respectively. In 1977, Bret was given the opportunity to transfer to Walla Walla as the Assistant Manager at the Rose Street store. Ultimately Bret was promoted to Store Manager, and then the Manager of the Plaza store, and retired from Safeway on December 20th, 2001.

In retirement Bret loved nothing more than being around his grandchildren and watching them grow up. He was always quick to give you a report on the current state of his beloved Yankees and loved boating and spending time on the water with his family, the occasional round of golf, and more than anything spending time with his beloved Judy working around their home.

We will always remember Bret for his quick sense of humor, his strong work ethic, his kind and caring nature, and his undying love and devotion to his family. Bret touched many of our lives in the community and he will be missed always.

Bret is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy, son and daughter-in-law (Taylor and Christa Anderson), daughter and son-in-law (Angela and Chris Gardea), and four grandchildren (Ethan Anderson, Lily Anderson, Isabelle Gardea, and Dane Gardea). He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Bret's honor to the Blue Mountain Humane Society. A memorial service will be held at at Blue Mountain Colonial DeWitt on December 29th, 2025 at 1:00pm.

Rest in peace, dear heart.
