Wayne B. Arrowood, 86, of Clyde, went Home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2025, at his home.
Wayne was born in McDowell County on September 11, 1938, to the late Boyd and Lucille Arrowood.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his grandson, Logan Anthony Rayburn, his infant great-granddaughter, Alice Quinn Rayburn, his sister, Mary Jordan, and his brother, Charles Arrowood.
Wayne enjoyed a large, loving family, including his wife of sixty-five years, Beatrice M. Arrowood, two sons, Sam Arrowood and his wife Liz of Asheville, and Kenneth Arrowood and his wife Janice of Waynesville, and daughter Glenna A. Rayburn and her husband Tony of Canton; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandson. He also leaves behind his sister, Callie Prince; his sister-in-law, Shirley Arrowood; his brother-in-law, Tommy Jordan; and a long-time friend, Dick Lunsford.
Wayne will be deeply missed, but the love and memories he created will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Medi Home Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Canton, North Carolina, with a visitation one hour prior. A graveside will follow at New Cruso Cemetery in Canton, North Carolina.
The care of Mr. Arrowood has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Canton, North Carolina.
