Millinocket – It is with deep sorrow for the passing of Wayne F. Brilliant who was born on January 16, 1943, to the parents of Randolph and Catherine (Freeman) Brilliant and the husband of Bonnie (Corrigan) Brilliant and their son, Peter Stephen Michaud and his fiancée, Gayle Cormier.
Wayne was a graduate of Stearns High School, class of 1961 and a graduate of Northeastern University, class of 1967. While attending the University, Wayne participated in ROTC and was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant after graduation. His career began with Fraser Paper Company while co-oping at Northeastern. In 1968, he went on active duty in the Army Adjutant General's Corps and served 2 years in the Panama Canal Zone. Discharged in 1970 and returned to the Personnel Dept. at Fraser Paper until joining Great Northern Paper Company in 1973 and retiring there after 30 years. Wayne was active in the JC's at Madawaska and served as President for one year. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and served one year as Commander.
Wayne leaves behind his wife, Bonnie; son, Peter and Gayle Cormier; daughters, Danielle (Michaud) Logan and her husband Andrew, MacKenzie Michaud, and Alayna Morneault; great granddaughter, Harper Raye Logan. Wayne also leaves behind his brother and best friend, Dwight Brilliant and his wife, Billie Jean Brilliant and their children, Shaun (Wayne's God Son) and wife Denise, their children and grandchildren, Julie and husband, Scott Pulkkinen and their children and grandchildren. Wayne also leaves his in-laws, Catherine (Corrigan) Smith and her daughter Kara and Kara's husband Jeff O'Sullivan, Barbara (Corrigan) Veilleux and husband Jim and their son, Casey Veilleux (also Wayne's God Son) and Hilary Veilleux and their children Sienna and Kallen. Wayne leaves one more special God Son, Peter John Michaud. Wayne and Bonnie were married 51 plus years and enjoyed many vacations together, time-sharing and enjoying warm weather retreats, but their favorite place of all was at Togue Pond and the beautiful View of Mount Katahdin in all its glory. Rest in peace my dear husband!
A graveside service will take place at Millinocket cemetery on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11AM.
