Beverly Ann (Read) Brown, 90, and Wayne Meredith Brown, 91, of Eisenhower Street, Coventry, both passed away one day apart from each other on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, and Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Beverly and Wayne's love story spanned decades, being happily married for 69 wonderful years, they were a source of inspiration for their family and friends. Together, they embraced life with warmth and laughter, and their remarkable bond serves as a testament to true companionship.

Beverly grew up in the village of Crompton and was a graduate of West Warwick High School. She then attended and graduated from Roger Williams Hospital School of Nursing where lifelong friendships with Connie, Dottie, Nancy and Barbara began. She is also very grateful for her childhood friend June. She was a dedicated nurse for over 40 years working first at Roger Williams Hospital and eventually finishing her career at Kent County Memorial Hospital. She took great pride in her profession, taking great care and nurturing those in need. After her retirement, she enjoyed playing golf, knitting, baking, and reading. She was a devout and faithful Christian.
Wayne grew up in the village of Hope and much of his childhood was spent working as a farmhand at Lippitt Farm alongside his father where he built a strong foundation of values which he carried throughout his life. He attended and graduated from West Warwick High School. In his senior year, he was part of the football team that played in the Orange Bowl in 1952. He started his career working at Greer Auto Body and moved onto RI Boat Movers. He ended his career as an industrial painter at Posi Seal International. Wayne enjoyed fishing, golfing, listening to music, and spending time outdoors. He started coaching youth sports in 1969 and was instrumental in establishing the Coventry Hockey Association. His career in coaching the youth of Coventry spanned many years and was one of the great joys in his life. He encouraged an atmosphere of learning, good play, and fun.
Together, they enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and spending time at the ocean, especially at Beavertail in Jamestown. Wayne and Beverly were devoted and loving parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Spending time at all of their grandchildren's many sporting and special events brought them the most joy and their grandchildren will cherish these memories forever. It brought them peace and happiness to be able to spend the final years of their lives in their own home.
