Wayne Donald Burrini, 54 of Randolph, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025. He was born on March 23, 1971 in Levittown, PA, the son of Jeannie and Peter Burrini.
Wayne was a graduate of Randolph High School Class of 1989 and Studied Communications at County College of Morris. He worked as a chef at Burrini's Olde World Market for 27 years and is known for his activism advocating for medical marijuana.
Listed among the top most influential voices in the Cannabis debate New Jersey. "If you visited the state house on any Thursday for the past 5 years you've likely smelled or encountered Lefty Grimes and Wayne Burrini, a spunky activist duo who streamed their award winning podcast "Sativa Cross". Sativa Cross is a non-profit of Saativa-Cross advocates for cannabis patient's rights.(sativacross.org) from the statehouse lawn. On the outside they look like dirty hippies, but if you scratch the surface you'll find two very smart, strategic and committed cannabis warriors. They're not putting on a tie for your sake, but Lefty Grimes and Wayne Burrini are moving the bell curve more than anyone on this list."
Wayne was a devoted grandson, son, uncle, brother, cousin, and friend.
He is survived by parents Jeannie and Peter Burrini, Sister Angela Burrini (Michael Williams), Nieces Ketrin, Caitlin, Kierra; Brother Jesse Burrini, Nephew Peter, Niece Brianna; Sister Jennifer Santana (Daniel Santana), Nieces Nicole, Anjelica, Mia, Gianna and Nephew Danny; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends and his beloved cat Rocket
He was preceded in death by Uncle Edwin Belmont, Grandmother Mary Miller, Grandmother Josephine Burrini, Cousin Tracy Leigh Ranucci (Burrini) Aunt Denise Burrini (Trippler), Grandfather Jesse Burrini.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th, 2025 at 4pm-8pm at Tuttle Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 7:15pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in Wayne Burrini's memory.
