Wayne F. Bushue, 76, of Altamont, died at 12:15 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Luther Terrace, Altamont.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Lutheran Care Center Chapel, Altamont with Rev. David Speers officiating. Burial will follow at Sandy Branch Cemetery, Kinmundy with military rites provided by the Farina American Legion and the US Marine Corps Honor Guard. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2025 at Lutheran Care Center Chapel. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Care Center Terrace of the donor's choice. Gieseking Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
Wayne was born on Sunday, March 6, 1949 in Farina to Kenneth and Leona (Sigrist) Bushue. He married Mary Jones on December 12, 1982. He retired after many years as a custodian for the Marion County Courthouse. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Altamont. He was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps having served in Vietnam. He was a life-long member of the Farina American Legion, Altamont V.F.W. Post #7676, and the DAV, Effingham, Chapter 7.
He is survived by; his son, Matthew (Carrie) Bushue, Kinmundy; daughters, Cassie Rincker, St. Louis, Linda Bushue, Salem, Crystal (Daron) Stuckemeyer, Altamont, Heather Bushue, Effingham, and Leah (Frank) Blomberg, Farina; brothers, Larry Bushue, Effingham and Duane (Sandie) Bushue, Salem; sisters, Joyce Rhone, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Linda Shaw, LaClede, IL, Phyllis (Darrell) Runge, Mason and Rose Bushue, Effingham; grandchildren, Reese Bushue, Kayden Bushue, Katey (Tyler) Devall, Adam Stuckemeyer, Austin Wagoner, Aiden Bushue, Alivia Blomberg, Curtis Bushue and Brittany Bowers; and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; his wife; parents; daughter, Erica Bushue in infancy; and brothers, Patrick and Kevin Bushue.
