Wayne Chaney, 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13th, 2025, in York, Pennsylvania. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Wayne lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, shaped by hard work, creativity, and the joy he brought to others.
A man of many talents, Wayne pursued diverse roles throughout his life. He worked as a freelance photographer for the Arundel Observer, a steel erector, crane operator, a truck driver, and later retired as a dispatcher for Broadway Transportation Services in Baltimore. Wayne was a dedicated worker who always gave 110% to every endeavor and proudly collaborated with United Way.
After residing in Maryland for most of his life, Wayne moved to York, Pennsylvania, in 2018. An avid photographer, music lover, and fisherman, Wayne found his greatest happiness in the company of his beloved family. He had a deep appreciation for all music genres, with a special fondness for The Beatles. Wayne was an enthusiastic sports fan, cheering passionately for the Colts, the Ravens, and his lifelong favorite, the Baltimore Orioles.
Wayne's radiant personality and contagious laughter left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. Known for his keen sense of humor and ability to light up any room, Wayne was a true beacon of joy and love to his friends and family.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Sonny and Marie Anderson, his sister Kathleen, and his brothers Frederick and Scott. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Lisa; his son, Wayne, and his wife, Becky; his daughter, Cristy, and her husband, Chuck; his grandchildren Korey (Holly), Asia (Ryan), Cali (Josh), Caitlyn, Cris, Courtnee, Evie, Arthur, and Annie; and his five cherished great-grandsons.
