Wayne H. Chase, age 85 of Detroit Lakes, MN, died October 5, 2023 at his home.
Wayne Harold Chase was born December 9, 1937 in Erhard, MN to Harold and Inga (Gunderson) Chase. He grew up and received his education in Detroit Lakes. On February 22, 1961 he was united in marriage to Carol L. (Halverson) in Detroit Lakes where they made their home and raised two children. Wayne worked for many years at Snappy’s and one of his greatest thrills was driving a Pepsi truck.
Wayne enjoyed traveling on bus tours and drives with his late wife. He had coffee every morning at Northside, when it was still open, and more recently at the 59er. He loved his family and will be dearly missed.
Wayne leaves one daughter, Debbie Friesen, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one son, Kevin (Amber Linquist) Chase, of Detroit Lakes, MN; eight grandchildren, David, Chris, Brittany, Jacob, Joe, Jordan, Trevin, and Hunter; 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; a sister, June (Glen) Gray and a brother, Gale Chase. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, his parents; one brother, Edsel Chase and a sister, Gerelda Anderson.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday October 14, 2023 at 12 Noon at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, MN.
