Wayne Ernest Dixon

Wayne Ernest Dixon – dedicated husband, father of three, grandfather of five, great grandfather of one, and friend of many – passed away on November 9, 2022 at the age of 78.
Wayne was born to Alvin and Ethel Dixon in Denison, Iowa and settled in Tulsa, OK and eventually moved to Allen, TX. He graduated from Denison High School and joined the Marines in July of 1962. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Marines, Wayne's career was a corporate pilot until he retired in 2001.
Wayne married Vicki Shieldnight in 1979 and together they raised 3 rambunctious boys, JR, Curtis and Todd.
Through the years, Wayne enjoyed hunting and fishing, golfing and making friends wherever he went. Wayne was a stranger to no one and found great purpose sharing in the successes, joys and challenges of those around him. Wayne was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Ethel. He is survived by his wife, Vicki, their children, JR Dixon and wife Nancy, Curtis Simpson and his wife Tammy and their children, Zathan wife Ally, Halee and Skylee and great grandson, Beckett, Todd Simpson and wife Aimee and their children, Stella and Christian.
Services celebrating Wayne's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 14, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Coweta, OK. There will be a visitation held on Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, OK. Wayne will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK.
Pallbearers are Jason Cage, Kenny Darnell, Bob Warnock, Steve Robinson, John Hale, and Scott Jacofsky.
