Wayne Doerflein Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Duda-Ruck Funeral Home of Dundalk, Inc. on Feb. 11, 2026.
Wayne Doerflein, 62, of Rosedale, Maryland, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born and raised in Edgemere, Maryland, a place he was very proud to call home. He later made home in Rosedale, where he continued his life centered on faith, family, and laughter.
Wayne was the beloved husband of Bethany Doerflein and devoted father to Nathan Doerflein (Morgan), Philip Talerico (Katlyn), Wendy Doerflein-Caskey (Rob), Maria Stallings (Nick), and Andrew Evans (Kristyna). He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Glenn Triplett III, Bowie, Hazel, River, Parker, Casey, Jayde, and Isaac, who lovingly knew him as PopPop. This title was his favorite role.
Wayne had a lifelong love of the Civil War, enjoyed playing video games – especially Fallout – and never missed an opportunity to tell a dad joke or send a timely birthday reminder. He was a proud and faithful member of his church, where his kindness and humor were felt by all who knew him. Truly, everyone who met Wayne loved him. He had a way of making people feel welcome.
Of all his many roles, Wayne often said his two favorite jobs were being a husband and a grandfather. He loved his family more than anything, and that love was evident in everything he did.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, Dundalk, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Celebration of Life/Funeral Service at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 11:00am, with a final viewing at 10:30am. There will be a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wayne's memory to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Rosedale.
Wayne's faith was a guiding force throughout his life, and he now rests in the peace of the Lord he loved so faithfully.
