Joseph Wayne Hardin, Sr., born on October 8, 1940 in
Gaylesville, Alabama, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 25, 2025.
Wayne was known for being a faithful servant of Jesus, loving husband whose mission was to keep Sally happy, devoted family man who loved family vacations at
Sunset Beach, NC, weekly family dinners, toy trains, red trucks and Christmas. He was also known for being a hardworking man & his toughness.
Wayne grew up in Trion Georgia and graduated as valedictorian from Trion High School. He was married to his special angel, Sally, for 64 years. He was an active member of Peavine Baptist Church. He was employed at the Federal Bureau of Investigation in
Washington, DC, Regal of Trion, Buster Brown of Chattanooga, Montgomery Knitting of Summerville, and owner of Pentafab, Inc. with locations in Dayton, TN and Dalton, GA.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Faye and Lee Marshall Hardin, his beautiful wife, Sally, and a brother, James Hardin. He is survived by his children: Cynthia (Bill) Sosebee, Joseph (Tammy) Hardin and Dewayne (Jennifer) Hardin; his grandchildren: Keith (Christina) Sosebee, Hannah Sosebee, Tara (Justyn) Singletary, Holly (Matthew) Landen, Trey (Emily) Hardin, Cole (Bryana) Hardin and Wyatt Hardin; his great grandchildren: Allie Sosebee, Will Sosebee, Clara Sosebee, Charlotte Sosebee, Ryker Singletary, Aurora Singletary, Emery Landen, Annie Hardin, Marshall Hardin and Wes Hardin.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Tapestry Hospice, Holly McCutcheon, Evelyn Gideon and Angie Key for all their care and support.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 28th in funeral home chapel with Bro. Denny Patrick officiating.
There will be a private family burial on Monday at Lafayette Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Saturday, December 27th at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
