Wayne Preston Helton

Wayne Preston Helton, of Clearwater Florida, passed away on April 7, 2022 at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Sonia (Daleki) Helton, a sister, Catherine Helton Conley, three daughters, Camille (Michael) Simmons, Traci Helton, Angelena Bryant and three step-sons, Sanfield Forseth, Scott Forseth and Stephan Forseth. Wayne was also blessed with eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was deeply devoted to his family and many friends.

Born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Glenn (Aileen) Helton on December 5, 1937 in Hickory, North Carolina, he was the youngest of four children, preceded in death by Charles Theodore Helton and Glenn Caswell Helton Jr.

Wayne was a highly successful salesman with the Sherwin Williams Company in Washington D.C. and after moving to Clearwater, FL in 1971, was owner of several small businesses in home improvement and interior design. He spent his last 40 years operating a Native American curio business, which resulted in frequent traveling throughout the southwest US with his wife. Wayne never hesitated to help others in need and was respected by all for his honest and generous heart. He will be missed greatly by so many.

A funeral service will be held on April 26, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Largo, Florida.
