Wayne Earl Howell

Wayne Earl Howell, a beloved retired electrician and devoted family man, passed away on April 22, 2025, in Fairview, Mississippi, at the age of 64. He was born on December 17, 1960, in Palo Heights, Illinois. Wayne was a person who cherished his family above all, finding joy in watching his grandchildren play outside and spending quality time with them.

Wayne's educational journey culminated at A.A. Stagg High School, which laid the foundation for a successful career as an electrician. Throughout his life, he maintained a zest for learning and self­ improvement, alongside his passions for playing Solitaire, wood crafting, and golf.  He always loved riding his motorcycle on the open road and being in the water as he was a certified scuba diver.

He is mourned by his loving spouse, Cathy Graham, and his children, including son, Austin Howell (Lisa) of Hatley, and daughters, Jessica Hampton (Demarcus) of Smithville, Roberta Carruth of TupeIo, and Samantha Demouy of Smithville. He was the cherished father figure to his fourteen grandchildren: Autumn, Mason, and Levi Holliday; Olivia, Rose, and Noah Howell; Jenna, Kailynn, and D.J. Hampton; Landon Howell; Nora Smith; Grant Howell; Zandor and Maximus Morris, who have each been touched by his love and guidance.

Wayne is also survived by his father, Wayne “Popsie” Howell, of Hatley, and his niece, Stephanie Sanderson (Chris) of Fultondale, Alabama. He had a great niece, Shelby Sanderson, and a great nephew, CJ Sanderson, who added more light to his life. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a long-time best friend, Randy Southerland, who stood by him through thick and thin.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Vogel Howell, mother, Margaret Bossow Howell, and sister, Susan Howell. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, as he was a steadfast source of love, encouragement, and inspiration.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Wayne's life during visitation on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory. A service officiated by Bro Roger Akers will be held following at 2:00 PM with his friend Shawn Reese providing the eulogy.
