Wayne G. Johnson

Wayne G. Johnson, age 91, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI.
Private family graveside services will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wisconsin Rapids.
Wayne was born on January 5, 1934 in Biron, WI to the late Paul Sr. and Pearl (Brewster) Johnson. He married Geraldine L. Fiechter on February 12, 1955 in Wisconsin Rapids. They celebrated 61 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 2016. Wayne worked for Consolidated Papers Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids for 44 years until his retirement in 1996. Wayne was always active in his community. He was a former member of the Biron Volunteer Fire Dept. for many years. He also was a trustee for the Nekoosa United Church of Christ, and delivered meals on wheels in his retirement. In his spare time, Wayne loved being outdoors. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping, and travelling with his wife, Geraline. Towards the end of his life, Wayne loved being able to spend time with his family while he stayed at his son, Jeff and Lisa's house in Iola.
Wayne is survived by his two children, Julia Danczyk of Gillett, WI, and Jeffrey (Lisa) Johnson of Iola, WI; four grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Judith (Larry) Stelzer.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine; parents; brothers, Arlyn Johnson and Paul Johnson Jr.; and his sister, Ardis (Kenneth) Kohnen.
