Wayne Knasel Obituary

Wayne W. Knasel, 93, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024. Wayne was a proud veteran of the United States Army.
He was born on June 29, 1930 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Wayne Knasel and Emma (Stinson) Knasel. Along with her parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Patty Werner; son, Paul Knasel; sister, Doris Wells-Badger; and brother, Donald Knasel.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Yvonne Knasel; children, Vicki (Calvin) Brown, Penny (Bruce) Weaver, John Knasel, Debbie (Gregg) Boyd, Danny (Victoria) Kost, Katie Yocum, and Sandra (Steve) Stepro; siblings, Bill (Shirley) Knasel, JoAnn Johnson, Jeannie Humphrey, and Peggy (Jeff) Roberts; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church. Wayne shared his loved and talent for gardening by maintaining their grounds and landscaping for many years. An avid fisherman, he joyfully taught his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the fine art.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wayne's memory can be made to Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church (918 Mt. Tabor, New Albany, IN 47150).
