Messerschmitt, Wayne Lee

Beloved husband of Jessica Messerschmitt nee (Eidam). Adored father of Morgan and Reagan. Dear son of Thomas and June Messerschmitt. Cherished brother of David (Shannon) Messerschmitt and Denise McDowell. Cherished brother-in-law of Shilo (Matt) Yalacki, Kathrine (Michael) Kiser, Shannon (Joey) Henschen. Also survived by nephews DJ, Conor, and Brody, nieces Laura, Abby, Hailey, and Bailey, and numerous friends.

Wayne recently retired from Sharonville Fire Department after 27 years of service. He also served the Liberty Township and West Chester Township Fire Departments, and several other departments across his long career. Wayne was very proud of his work with the Hamilton County Fire Investigation Unit, the Butler County Fire Investigation Team, and several other task forces and rescue teams. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters, working at Kings Island, and woodworking.

Passed away surrounded by family and friends Monday, August 12, 2024 at age 52.

Memorial Visitation will be held at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Rd., Liberty Twp., OH 45044, on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 9 AM until time of service at 12 Noon.

Reception will immediately follow at Sharonville Fire Department Headquarters, 11637 Chester Road, Cincinnati, OH 45246.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Messerschmitt Family memorial account at any Fifth Third Bank location or through Zelle; to The American Cancer Society; or to Hospice of Cincinnati.
