He professed faith in Christ and had attended the Robinson Creek Baptist Church. He loved his dogs and going camping.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Janet Mills, Darlene Burris, and Louise Lawson, and many other friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Mikel, and nine siblings: Betty Compton, Annette Smothers, Shirley Wise, Dora Mikel, Rena Murphy, Kenneth "Possum" Mikel, Mary Frances Mikel, Guy Douglas Mikel, and Barbara Jean Mikel.
There will be a Graveside Service for Wayne Thomas Mikel on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at the Robinson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
L.R. Petty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
