Annie Mikel

On Thursday January 2, 2025, at 11:54 pm. Annie Blondyne Mikel also known as "Mother" departed from this life. She was born in Heidelberg, Mississippi. She was the daughter of the late Couzone and Lillie Newell.
She was a firm believer of being in God's good grace. She would read her bible faithfully.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Ozie Mikel, her brother Delaunce Ellis Newell, two sisters Linda Prescott and Vanessa "Wanda" Newell.
In her life's journey, she attended public school in Mississippi. Her family moved from Mississippi to Norwalk, Connecticut. Where she attended Norwalk High School and graduated at the age of 16. She attended Katherine Gibbs Business School. She received a certificate as home companion and worked with her clients until she wasn't able too.
One thing about Mrs. Mikel is she loved to go shopping at Marshall's, T.J Maxx and Home Goods. Once she left those stores at closing time, she then head over to the grocery store. She would stay there until closing time. She loved shopping for her family members. She was a loving and caring lady. If you ever asked her how she doing, she would reply "I'm still kicking" as time went by, and she got older she would reply "I'm still kicking just not high". She will be greatly missed and forever loved by many.
Mrs Mikel leaves to cherish her memories her eight children, Ozie (Willow) Mikel Jr. of Ledyard, CT, Shirley Mikel (Wayne) of Greenwich, CT, Stephen Mikel and Kenneth Mikel of Stamford, CT, Valerie Mikel of Port Chester, NY, Lyneal Mikel of Stamford, CT, Sean Mikel of Charlotte, N.C., Vanessa Mikel of Stamford, CT; nine grandchildren Nina Simmons, Honee Mikel, Amber Mikel, Grant Longmire, Jackie Mikel, Dylan Moye, Isaac Widomski, Enellie Mikel and Blake Mikel; five great grandchildren Armani McCollum, Xayvion Mikel, Christian Herring, Ashley Herring and Ethan Moye; one great great grandchildren granddaughter Harmony Mikel.
She also leaves her nieces who she raised as her children Jasmine "Kate" Newell, Joy Newell, Rishay Addison, Robert Gardner and Johnnie Gardner; grandchildren Lily Newell, Tyree Newell, Caleb Newell, LaNya Prescott, JaMare Pugh and DJ "boo" Addison to mourn her loss. Her sister Annie Bea Gardner and brother Arthur Tweedie will miss her greatly as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
