Lawrence Wayne Pacha, age 78, of Atkinson, NE passed away on June 24, 2024.
Wayne was born on January 14, 1946 to Art and Dolores (Morgan) Pacha, in Atkinson, NE. Wayne grew up southwest of Atkinson and attended District #77 through the 8th grade and graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1964. After graduation he enjoyed a long career of working on the family ranch next to his father and later with his sons and grandsons. During that time, Wayne also worked for Alfred Straka, P & P Farms, National Farms and for Richard Galyen on his farm and ranch for many years.
He was united in marriage to Mary Jo Humpal and to this union 4 children were born. Glenda, Corey, Martin and Tracey. In 1981 Wayne married Jean Allyn and she brought with her 3 daughters Angie, Crystal and Robyn.
Wayne lived life to the fullest. He was a great storyteller and often liked to tell stories about hunting, fishing, flying his plane and all the adventures with his numerous friends. He was always up for telling a good joke.
Wayne was a tinkerer and an inventor where he could fix almost anything in the most conventional or often unconventional way! One of Wayne's biggest accomplishments was designing and building his own metal hay stacker from scratch. He also helped work on numerous community projects.
Wayne was involved with many organizations, such as the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, Pheasants Forever and the local Food Pantry.
Wayne is survived by his wife Jean, his children, Glenda (Shawn), Corey (Cathy), Martin (Rose) and Tracey (Curt). 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Jean's daughters, Angie, Crystal (Jon), Robyn (Troy) and 5 grandchildren. Siblings, Maxine (Lowell) Krieger, Carol (Mike) McKay and Lane (Bernie) Pacha and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, uncles, aunts, granddaughter Kelsey, nephew Kurt McKay, and Brother-in-law Harold Krieger.
