Wayne Sojak

Wayne Sojak, a devoted lifelong farmer whose hands shaped the fertile fields of the Rio Grande Valley, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, just shy of his 64th birthday. Born on December 30, 1961, in Granjeno, Texas, Wayne was a lifelong resident of Mission, Texas.

Wayne dedicated his life to the soil, farming primarily in the Peñitas, Texas area. He was a familiar and respected figure in the agricultural community, known for his relentless hard work and stewardship of the land. His years were guided by the seasons, planting and harvesting cotton, onion, and grain and reserved a small part of his land for his ever favorite watermelon patches. Wayne found true peace and purpose in the rhythm of the seasons, the feel of the earth, and the rewarding sight of a successful harvest.

Wayne never met a stranger and was always the life of the party; his generous spirit and zest for living ensured his life was rich with meaningful connections and laughter. One that will never be forgotten.

Wayne is survived by his beloved sister, Debbie Boston (Sojak). He leaves behind his strong and loving children. His son, Wayne Evean Sojak and wife Stella Sojak, and their seven children, and his daughter, Amy Sojak (Billy Gonzalez), and their seven children. He was blessed with fourteen grandchildren.

Wayne is now reunited in heaven with his beloved father, Marion Edward Sojak, and mother, Bobbie Hall.

His deep love for the land and his unforgettable enthusiasm meant that whether he was in the tractor seat or the center of a celebration, Wayne was always where the action was, and has left life long memories for those to cherish.
