Wayne Spain, 68, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 5:30 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2024 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Heritage Christian Academy with Bro. Terry Hoffman and Bro. John Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Hopkinsville, KY he was born April 14, 1956. He was a graduate of Hopkinsville High School and attended Western Kentucky University. Wayne worked as a self-employed contractor prior to becoming the Maintenance Manager at Heritage Christian Academy for the last 25 years. Wayne was an avid fisherman and golfer and had been a member of several Bass Clubs. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father: Bobby Spain who died when he was an infant; and his parents who raised him: David and Erlene Spain; his brothers: David B. "D. Boyd" Spain and Charles "Tinker" Spain; and his brother – in – law: Dr. Jerry Keese.
Survivors include his wife: Barbara Barnett Spain; his daughter: Lindsey Elaine Spain of the home; his sisters: Mollie Spain, Susan (Dr. David) Gardner, and Janie (Scott) Ezell all of Hopkinsville, KY; his half-brother: Ricky (Melody) Spain of Bowling Green, KY; and his birthmother: Alva Myers Cochran of Greenville, SC.
