Charles Johnston Obituary
Charles Henry Johnston, 90, of Crofton, KY died at 1:59 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at his residence.
A native of Christian County, KY he was born May 4, 1934 the son of the late Holbert Henry Johnston and Cecil Glinnis "Patty" Meacham Johnston.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with David Williams and Gary Puryear officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He worked as a custodian at Lacy Elementary School for over 15 years, and had also worked for Southern States. He was a member of Bluff Springs Church of Christ, a United States Army Veteran and was also a member of the Cattleman's Association.
Survivors include his wife: Faye Gamble Johnston of Crofton, KY; his son: Michael (Janice) Alan Johnston of Crofton, KY; his daughter: Karen (Doug) Johnston Sampley of Hopkinsville, KY; his three grandchildren: Lauren Renee Johnston, Callie Johnston Stewart, and Jon Michael Johnston; and his great-grandchild, Rowan Henry Bermudez.
Contributions may take the form of donations to Pennyroyal Hospice.
