Wayne Spring Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, Cemeteries & Crematories on Aug. 9, 2024.
Wayne "Skip" Spring passed away at the age of 85, at his home in San Antonio, TX on July 27,2024. Wayne was born on December 4, 1938, in Topeka, Kansas to Fredrick and Edith Marie Spring. He attended public schools in Kansas and graduated from Lyndon High School in 1956 and attended Kansas University. He played basketball, football, and ran track throughout his high school and college years. Wayne retired from the Dupont company after working for them for several decades. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Edith Marie Spring and by his Aunt Hazel and Aunt Mary. Wayne married his beloved wife Olga on May 20,1995 they were married for 29 years.
Wayne was an avid outdoorsman who loved traveling, camping, hunting, fishing, golfing, trap and skeet shooting in which he won several awards. He also loved being outside in his garden where he grew his vegetables. Olga always made salads and salsa with those delicious vegetables. Wayne was a great person, always smiling and welcoming. He spoke to everyone he met.
When Wayne was not outside, he enjoyed watching the black and white cowboy movies and keeping up with political news. Sports were his favorite to watch, especially his home team, The Kansas City Chiefs and KU Jay Hawks. Football was always great to watch with him especially since not all of us are Kansas City Fans.
Wayne Leaves behind his beloved wife Olga his children Steven (Marsha), Shelie (Phil) Messenger, Paul (Carmen) Key, Laura (Scott) Davis, Sandra (Jesse) Pastran, Juan A. Key, Emanuel (Lillian) Sauceda. He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. Wayne will always be remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends.
