Wayne Tripp Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Spooner Funeral Home on Dec. 6, 2025.
Wayne grew up on a dairy farm with his brother Dale, who was ten years older, Myron who was 2 years older and sister Lois who was 2 years younger. He learned to milk at age seven and logged with horses until getting their first tractor in 1941. Wayne took over the family farm at age 19 with determination and a hard-working ethic. He instilled that same ethic in the 5 children he and Betty were blessed with. He greatly enjoyed having a big garden and sharing it's bounty. He was a Godly, kind and gentle man of integrity who loved the Lord, his precious wife and his family generously. He had quite a sense of humor, was a romantic poet and had an attitude of gratitude. He was an active member of the Spooner Wesleyan Church up until COVID, serving on the board as Vice chair and head usher under both Pastor David Peterson and Pastor Ron Gormong. He was active in the community serving on the ASCS board and FHA board.

Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth of 71 years, brother Dale and Marilyn Tripp, sister Lois and John Kanzler, sister-in-law Florence Tripp, twin sons and 1 yet to meet, daughter-in-law Anne Tripp, in-laws John and Erica Jordan, parents Harrison and Mathilda Tripp, and grandparents Fred and Elizabeth Tripp and John and Christina Arnquist.

He is survived by his children, Timothy B. Tripp of Rice Lake, WI, Suzanne and Vern Scott of Golden, Colorado, Daniel and Marshia Tripp of Rice Lake, WI, Kevin and Robin Tripp of Rice Lake, WI and Michelle and Robert Ortmann of Spooner, WI, brother Myron Tripp of Cottage Grove, MN, 19 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
