Obituary published on Legacy.com by Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home - Grand Prairie on Mar. 2, 2026.
Wei Jin, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, departed this life February 2026 at the age of 69. He was born in the Heilongjiang Province of China, where he cultivated a passion for music which would resonate throughout his life.
At a young age, Wei demonstrated his unique musical talent by performing an inspirational solo with the traditional Chinese bamboo flute at a national stage which was well received. He spent countless hours practicing the classical flute, a devotion that eventually earned him a place in the cultural performance troupe he had long dreamed of joining as a professional flutist. Yet he was never one to settle. At a time when a movie ticket was a rare and treasured luxury, he would quietly give his away and instead spend those hours studying piano and teaching himself musical arrangement. His hunger to grow never faded. In time, that dedication led him to earn a degree in arranging and conducting from the conservatory of music - a testament to both his talent and unwavering commitment to his craft.
Wei served as an ensemble leader, orchestra conductor, and eventually Deputy Director, overseeing the troupe's artistic work. Under his leadership, they were transformed into one of renewal by which the performance productions and tours were warmly welcomed. Wei also composed and produced music for film, television, and national broadcasts, receiving many honors along the way.
Wei then experienced a life transformation when he came to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. After baptism, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to God's calling. For the rest of his life, Wei tirelessly served God and became a beloved spiritual father to countless people. Meanwhile, he wove his musical gifts into serving others by composing and publishing inspirational songs that continue to touch countless hearts.
Wei was truly a man of discipline and quiet strength who exemplified resilience and determination. He lived with health issues for over a decade without allowing it to diminish his spirit or hinder his ministries. His enduring tenacity is a testament to his character, inspiring those around him to embrace each day with gratitude and joy. He maintained a productive life before a rapid health decline.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Min Wang; his son, Song (Michelle) Jin. He is also cherished by sisters, Fenghua Jin and Fengqin Jin; a brother, Gang Jin; nieces, Dan Zheng and Shiwen Zeng; a nephew Qiming Jin; and numerous relatives who all remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hong Hai Jin and Xiu Wen Zhang.
Wei leaves a legacy of love, music, and devotion that will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. Though his earthly journey is complete, we do not say goodbye, but rather 'until we meet again' as we hold fast to the promise of heaven.
