Wendell Allen Barbee, age 81, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away on July 18, 2025, at the Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on October 12, 1943, in Dayton to Eldia and Hazel Smith Barbee.

Wendell was a happy, loving person, and he left us with one last loving look and a sweet smile. He was affectionately known as "Neighbor" to his community.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Barbee; sisters: Edna Steel, Ellen Barbee, and Pat Davis; and brothers: Lester Barbee, Delmer Barbee, Raymond Barbee, Claude Barbee, and Tommy Barbee.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Bill) Layne, and their children: Kristi Petty, Julie (Jamie) Dunn, and BJ (Regan) Layne; his daughter-in-law, Lisa Barbee, wife of his late son David, and their children, Jerod and Dawson Barbee; five beloved great-grandchildren who will carry on his legacy; his sister, Donna Salori; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Connie and Cassie from the Hospice Center of Dayton, Tennessee.

He will be interred in Spence Cemetery in a private service. Coulter Garrison Funeral Home in Charge of Arrangements.
