Wendy Jean Prince

Wendy Jean Prince passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 57 in Dimondale, Michigan. Born on November 11, 1967, in Lansing, Michigan.
Daughter of Roger and Jean Rich, Wendy's educational journey began at Holt High School and continued as she pursued further studies at Ferris State University and Lansing Community College, laying the groundwork for a career of service.
Professionally, Wendy's commitment to public safety was evident in her roles with the Windsor Township Fire Department, Ingham County 911 Dispatch, and the Lansing Police Department, where she served as a police officer and she also was a negotiator on START with the Lansing Police.
Wendy married her current husband and fellow officer, John Prince in 2009 in Eagle Harbor, Michigan. The two shared their life together for a total of about 20 years.
Wendy is survived by her parents Roger and Jean Rich, as well as her husband John Prince; son, Matthew Osborn, stepdaughter Erin Prince, and Matthew's father, Chad Osborn, and his wife, Brittany; her extended family, including ex mother-in-law Sue Osborn, and brother and sister in laws Mike and Tiffany Rich, Mike and Debbie Prince, and Pat Prince as well as many nieces and nephews; many friends including Suzy and Paul Neuhaus, Lana Howell, and Renee Korrey.
Wendy was preceded in death by Ronald and Joann Prince.
Wendy's found solace and excitement in the natural beauty of Michigan, particularly while searching for agates at Lake Superior and exploring the trails of the Upper Peninsula. Her love for the outdoors was matched only by her love for spending quality time with her cherished family and friends.
A memorial service will be held for Wendy on Thursday, October 30th at 11am at Palmer, Bush and Jensen Holt Chapel located at 5035 Holt Rd. Holt, MI 48842. Family will begin accepting visitors an hour prior, starting at 10am.
