Wert Edward Eggleston son to the late Edward Wert and Elizabeth Mary Eggleston was born in Maryland he graduated from Dunbar high school in 1953 shortly thereafter he enlisted in the United State Army in joined the 82 Airborne Division where he became a Master Paratrooper with more than 65 jumps and fighting in the Korean War in 1953. After coming out of the Army in 1957 with an Honorable discharge. After coming out of the Army in shortly thereafter he started working at Bethlehem Steel where he worked as a foreman for 30 years then retired in 1987. After he retired from one job he started working at St. Timothy School for 10 year than retired from that job and moved on to Good Samaritan Hospital where he worked and trained many for 10 year than also retired. One of his greatest loves was traveling to Mahone Virginia where some of his family lived.

After fully retiring from work he what to Baltimore School of the Bible where he became a Minister. He was an active member at the Greater Harvest Baptist Church where he became an ordained minister some years later. After leaving this church he became a member of the Mt. Calvary Star Baptist than after becoming very ill he retired from preaching.

Preceding him in death are his sister Sweetie Walton, Flora Davis, Alice Crowell and three brothers Reginald, Albert and Leroy Eggleston.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Vivian Eggleston for who he has been with 75 years and married to for 42 years and his children Francis, Kevin, Wert, Wayne, Rodney, Malik, and one daughter Adrian Eggleston. Two of his children preceding him in death Darryl Eggleston and Karen Eggleston and one stepdaughter Patricia Taylor and a host of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren
