Fausett Mortuary - PriceWeslee Tama Seal
July 21, 2016 – October 22, 2025
PRICE- Our precious Weslee Tama Seal, age 9, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025 at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City with his special grandmother/caregiver/guardian, D’Lynn Anderson by his side; along with his loving parents, Zachary Eli and McKaylee Bree Smith Seal and his devoted grandparents, Tyler and Corina Smith and aunt Janessa Smith.
Weslee was born with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy, club feet, dislocated hips, and inability to breathe or swallow on his own. It was a miracle that he was strong enough to survive. A special thanks to McKaylee’s attending OB/GYN, Dr. Bradshaw and pediatrician, Dr. E.K. Madsen and the staff at Castleview Hospital where he was stabilized and sent by helicopter to Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. Later Weslee was moved to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. He went through numerous surgeries throughout his life. Weslee was able to come home when he was six months old. Throughout his life he underwent many surgeries and at the age of three he was able to get off the G-tube and oxygen. He learned to scoot around the floor and later was able to climb onto the furniture. Weslee learned to crawl and pull himself up by using the furniture. This lead to him walking with the assistance of the furniture. On October 31, 2023 he had another surgery on his feet which lead to a cough that progressed to pneumonia and a collapsed lung. He was in and out of the hospital, intubated for three weeks until they did a tracheostomy on November 23, 2024 when he was hospitalized and became ventilator dependent. He was doing better with the ventilator but was still too sick to be released. They moved him to Neuro Restorative Care Center in Riverton, Utah just two days before Christmas of 2024. In 2025 he was in and out of Primary Children’s Hospital in Lehi and Salt Lake City. They later sent him to Western Peaks Specialty Hospital in Bountiful, Utah. Weslee developed a hole in his Trachea and was back and forth from Primary Children’s Hospital in July and August. The hole healed and he was sent back to Western Peaks for only a couple of days and suffered more complications. He ended up back at Primary Children’s Hospital with another hole in his Trachea that extended into his esophagus, he needed to be intubated again but his lungs were too damaged and he passed away. Weslee through all of his struggles was always a very happy, go lucky, playful child. He loved his movies, music, animals and outdoors. His family meant everything to him. Weslee was loved by his teachers, staff and peers at Castle Valley Center as well as his doctors, nurses and staff at all the hospitals.
We will miss our precious little guy, but we know he is now in Jesus’ loving arms with family that preceded him. He can walk and talk and is now on his mission in Heaven. We love you Weslee! “Well done though good and faithful servant”.
