Wesley Beasley Obituary
Wesley A. Beasley 69, of rural Princeton passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at his home.
He was born in Gibson County June 19, 1955 to William and Helen (Sisson) Beasley, who preceded him in death.
Wes was a retired coal miner retiring after 37 years of working in the mines, mainly for Amax Coal, and he was a member of the U.M.W.A. Local 1791. He had lived in Gibson County most of his life, living a short time in Grayville, IL and Waynesburg, PA. Wes was a member and Past Master of the Sheba Masonic Lodge #200 in Grayville and the Ainad Shrine Lodge in Belleville. IL He was a 1973 graduate of Wood Memorial High School. He coached Little League baseball, Babe Ruth baseball and Allstar baseball in both leagues. Wes was a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, I.U. Hoosiers basketball fan and Green Bay Packers football fan. He was an avid bowler for over 50 years. He was a League Secretary, an officer in the Princeton Men's Bowling Association and a Member of the Princeton Men's Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
Wes is survived by his wife, Vanessa Beasley of Princeton; children, Christopher Beasley (Kent) of Brownsburg, IN, Matthew Beasley (Carrie) of Evansville, Kimberly Sutton (Jody) of Lexington, KY, Timothy Beasley (Nikki) of Evansville, Jason Beasley (Jenny) of Sterling Heights, MI, and Lesa Maynor (Jarad) of Evansville; sister, Bonnie Beasley of Oakland City; brothers, Marvin Beasley (Ruthann) of Winslow, and Brian Beasley (Melissa) of Princeton; and 15 grandchildren.
A masonic memorial service will be held 12:30 pm Saturday, September 7, 2024, followed by a funeral service which will begin at 1 p.m. at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Rick Lance officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in rural Princeton. Visitation will be held from 10 am until 12:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sheba Masonic Lodge Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 133, Grayville, IL 62844. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
