Wesley Richard Berberick, 28, of Decatur, Georgia, passed away on July 1, 2024.
The son of Curtis and Daphne Anderson Berberick, Wesley was the middle of three children. Wesley grew up in Decatur where he was active at Decatur Presbyterian Church and attended City Schools of Decatur. He graduated from Decatur High School in 2013. Wesley had a competitive, tenacious and self-reliant character which propelled him to be a good student and an exceptional athlete. But his most outstanding virtue was his compassion for others and his fierce loyalty to his family and friends. He was a loving and dependable brother, friend, son and grandson. Wesley particularly enjoyed and excelled at lacrosse and made many lifelong friendships playing on Ebster Field in Decatur. He played for Decatur High School, where he was a captain and went on to play collegiately at Ohio Valley University and Georgia State University, from where he graduated in 2018. Wesley was a gifted student and studied Finance and Marketing at Georgia State. He became a financial analyst and was employed by the Coca Cola Company and then moved to GE Healthcare where he was building a successful career in data and automation. In his later years, Wesley became an avid music lover, with a particular love for EDM and festivals. Wesley loved to run, practiced yoga daily and always had a new health fad to share. He was a lover of Atlanta culture and sports - never to miss a Hawks or Falcons game. Wesley was rock solid and dutiful to his friends and family; he always was available to show up and help out when needed. He particularly was devoted to his sister, Emmie Berberick, 25 of Atlanta; grandmother, Polly Anderson, 78 of Atlanta; and mother, Daphne Berberick, 56, of Atlanta. Wesley was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Addison Berberick and grandfather Edward Archibald Anderson. Survivors include his mother Daphne Berberick, 56, of Atlanta, his father, Curtis Berberick 58 of Denver, NC his sister, Emmie, his grandmother Polly Anderson, his grandmother Freda Gennaro, of Pittsburgh, his great-aunt Lucy Cherry, 78 of Atlanta. Many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
