Wesley Rainey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, Inc. - Clinton on Mar. 31, 2026.
Wesley Rainey, age 69, passed away on March 29, 2026, in Caryville, Tennessee.

Wesley was born on August 16, 1956, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, to Leonard and Ann Rainey. He attended Clinton High School and spent his life working as a skilled carpenter, a trade he proudly learned from his father. Wesley had a true passion for woodworking and found great joy in fishing trips with his children and grandchildren.

Wesley loved his family and friends more than anything and truly never met a stranger. It did not matter whether someone was related by blood or not-if Wesley loved you, he loved you with his whole heart. The beautiful blended family he helped create stands as a lasting testament to the kind, generous, and loving man he was.

Wesley is survived by his loving wife, Sonjia Rainey; his siblings, Carolyn (David) Weisenberger, David Rainey, and Mark (April) Rainey; and his children, Ann Rainey, Robert (Amanda) Rainey, Adam (Tyra) Gamble, Amy (Adam) Hennessy, Chelsie (Jackson) Leatherwood, Alley (Matt) Workman, and Harvey (Katelyn) Lowe. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Peyton, Colton, Chevy, Jax, Karleigh, Skylee, AJ, Haylee, Daemon, Atlus, and Bella, as well as his great-granddaughter, River, who all brought immense pride and joy to his life.

Wesley was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Pam Rainey, and parents, Leonard and Ann Rainey.

Wesley will be remembered for his kindness, his strong work ethic, and the unconditional love he gave to his family and everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Service details will be announced at a later time. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. Holleygamble.com
