In Loving Memory of Wesley Shane Ray
April 26th, 1971 - November 9th, 2024
Wesley Shane Ray, lovingly known as Shane and called "Taco" by his friends, passed away on November 9th, 2024, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
Born on April 26th, 1971, Shane was the cherished son of Peggy and Russell Ray.
Shane was loved by many people. He was the best husband and father on the planet to Krista and her sons, Anthony, Ryan and Austin.
Shane was a talented guitar player, a window tinter, a professional truck driver, and every dog's best friend.
Fulfilling his wish, Shane will be cremated and returned to the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, a place he cherished deeply and where he spent countless summers creating cherished memories. Shane's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He often questioned why we moved to the city, but in the mountains, his spirit will find peace.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly requests donations be made to colorectal cancer research or your local animal shelter.
A celebration of life for Shane will be November 23, 2024 at Old Miller's from 12 noon to 5pm.
Kids welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
Don Catchen Funeral Home in Elsmere, KY is assisting the family.

Shane was the very first friend that i6 had in childhood. My mother babysat him when we were 4 years old. Shane and I spent summer days swimming and playing on swing sets. I will never forget those carefree summer days spent with Shane. In our adult years, we still kept in contact. He once took an old Honda Civic that I was driving, detailed it and made it look brand new. The only pay that he asked for was a sack of White Castles. Shane was a wonderful person and everyone he knew thought so. Rest in peace dear old friend and you will be so very missed. You were "one in a million". Love, Staci Sandhas
