Westly Eifert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shinn Funeral Service on Mar. 16, 2026.
Westly "Pete" Eifert, age 66, of Appleton, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at his home, leaving behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, faith, and a trail of muddy boots from the woods he loved so much.

Pete was born on October 29, 1959, in Osmond, Nebraska to William "Bill" Eifert and Judith Cunningham Eifert. From the start, Pete had a big heart, a strong spirit, and the kind of personality that could make a stranger feel like an old friend in about five minutes. Above all else, Pete loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; his son, Keith; his bonus daughters, Jennifer Alderson (Tim) and Beth Glenn (Jake); his mother, Judith; and his brother, Bryan (Renee); his niece, Jerri, and nephew, Spencer (Alina); and grandchildren, Grant Alderson and Raegen Ford; and other great-nieces and nephew. Pete was deeply proud of his family and never missed an opportunity to brag about them, tell stories about them, or occasionally offer a little unsolicited advice, usually with a grin.

Pete was happiest outdoors. If it was deer season, turkey season, or fishing season… Pete was there. Many good days were spent in the woods or on the water, especially fishing with his buddy, Mike. When he wasn't in camouflage, you might find him riding the open road with his friends in the Hippie Holler Gang, enjoying the wind, the freedom, and the camaraderie that came with it.

Pete was known for being loyal, caring, and the kind of friend who showed up when it mattered. He had a way of connecting with people from all walks of life, and once you were his friend, you were his friend for life.

His faith was central to who he was and was a proud member of Rockport Masonic Lodge #58. Pete loved the Lord deeply and never hesitated to share his testimony about the life God had given him. He thanked God every day for saving his life and felt called to share that gratitude with others. Whether in a church, around a campfire, or in a simple conversation, Pete preached hope, grace, and redemption in the most genuine way-just by being Pete.

While his family and friends will miss him more than words can say, they find comfort in knowing that Pete is now in the ultimate hunting camp-no early alarm clocks, no missed shots, and the biggest stories yet to tell.

Pete's life was a reminder that faith, family, friendship, and a good day outdoors are some of life's greatest blessings. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched, the stories that will be told for years to come, and the love he gave so freely.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered, likely with a smile and a good story.

A Celebration of Life with Masonic Rites by Rockport Masonic Lodge #58 will be held at Rockport Missionary Baptist Church, Malvern at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026.
