Wetzel is preceded in death by his dear parents, Bert and Sena Combs, and by both of his wives, the late Doris Combs, with whom he shared over 40 years of love and companionship, and the late Sue Combs, who brought 20 years of joy to his life. His legacy of kindness and warmth continues to flourish through his family.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Wendy (Michael) Haverty; his caring step-children, Gary (Nora) Carroll and Deborah (late Cary) Roberts. Wetzel was especially proud of his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy: Melissa (Dan) Haverty-Ramirez, Amanda (Jason) Haverty-Harris, and Matthew Haverty. He also embraced his role as a step-grandfather, finding special moments with Rodney Roberts, Gary Carroll, Kelli Carroll, and John Roberts. The light of his life continued to shine through his great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Madison, Mackenzie, and Mia, who brought laughter and love into his heart.
