Whitney Cedric Grey, 64, was called home to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday October 5, 2016 surrounded by family at his home on the Salt River Pima- Maricopa Indian Community. He was greeted by his Father in Heaven along with his mother Eunice Frances, his father Herman Bull Grey , his sister Barbra Lynn , his brother Douglas "Bo-Bo" Grey , his daughter Rachelle Rene Grey and many other family and friends who have gone before him. Whitney was born November 28, 1951 in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from the American Indian Art Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he went on to the University of New Mexico to obtain his teaching degree in Art. Whitney was a man of many colors and a world traveler. He was an inspiring Mystic spiritualism Artist painting with his favorite water color and acrylics. His paintings currently hang in not only on Native American Reservations in the United States but also in Germany, Australia, France and England just to name a few. Whitney was a member of the American Indian Movement where he would fight for indigenous rights. Whitney was born cerebral palsy and had many minor setbacks with his health but he has never let his disability or his health get in the way of his life's accomplishments such as bull and bronc riding, being a state champion high school wrestler, a Boy Scout, a Chef for the Forest Fire Fighters. Whitney was involved with many civil rights movements for the American Indian Community, and he traveled the world hitch hiking just to name a few accomplishments. Whitney has left his mark on this earth with many things but one in particular that is although he was born with a disability he never let it stand in his way. Whitney is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Harmena G. Bieker-Grey , his son Whitney Che Grey and three grandchildren Tieare Shush, Renelya Clara, Kane Bull Grey, his two brothers Lance and Cameron Grey Sr. , his four sisters Dale Waters, Gale Biakeddy – Grey, Robin Enos, Little Fawn Loring and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday October 14, 2016 at Salt River Memorial Hall - 9849 E. Earll Drive Scottsdale, AZ 85256 from 6pm to 10pm followed by Traditional Services at the Family Home 11757 E. Clarendon Scottsdale, Az 85256. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday October 15, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints – Papago ward – at 8am following the service there will be an Interment at the Salt River Cemetery.

We always think we will see each other again in the flesh since we share our lives as family, never worried that our love for each other is never doubted or tested. Only when faced w great loss, mystery of life & death reminds us of what we mean to one another. I am blessed to have known him all my life. Always my big brother, friend, champion.
