Wiladean Mary Peters, age 58, started her journey to the spirit world unexpectedly on Monday June 16, 2025, in Antigo. Wiladean was born on November 14, 1966, in Shawano to the late Walter and Veronica (Waupoose) Peters. She enjoyed fancy dancing and traditional dancing at Pow Wows in her younger years. Wiladean was a talented in Native American craft work her specialty in beading and leatherwork. In her free time, she enjoyed riding in the woods and spending time with her family.
Wiladean is survived by her siblings, Wilda Vele, Willa Peters, Winston Larry Dean Merdock, II.,, Waldon (Kathy) Peters, Sr., Dawn Marie Peters, Karen Peters, and Wayne Peters. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, including special nephew, Ke-Se-Kat Okiq-Se-Maw Dayson K. Brown.
Wiladean is preceded in death by her siblings, Winifred Peters, Wendelin Peters, Wanda Peters, William Peters, Warren Peters, Willard Peters, Wilhemina Peters, Gordon James, Sr., Betty Ann Wynos, Carmela Root, and Walter Peters III; and her parents, Walter and Veronica.
A traditional Native American service officiated by Joey Awonohopay, Sr. will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday June 24, 2025, at the Willa Peters residence N2106 White Birch Street Neopit, Middle Village. Visitation will be held at the residence starting on Sunday June 22, 2025, from 1:00 pm and continuing until the time of service on Tuesday. Burial will in the Menominee Nation Cemetery.
