Wilbert Yadon "Wib" Ivey

WILBERT "WIB" IVEY, son of Earl and Hazel Barnet Ivey, was born August 21, 1933, in Brush Creek, Missouri, and departed this life March 18, 2022, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years.
Wib, as he was known to family and friends, was united in marriage with the love of his life, Wilma Dampier on March 30, 1956. Together they shared nearly sixty-six years of laughter and memories. Wib and Wilma became synonymous over the years. It was rare to see one without the other. They loved each other deeply.
After graduating from high school, Wib entered the United States Army and proudly served our country. When he returned home, Wib worked in carpet and vinyl installation the majority of his life. He enjoyed fox-hunting, mainly to hear his hounds run and loved every aspect of tending to his cattle. Most important was the time spent and memories made with his family.
Wib is survived by his wife of nearly sixty-six years, Wilma (Dampier) Ivey; one son, Tyler Ivey and his wife Samantha of Lebanon; three grandchildren, Kerstynn, Austin and Gabe; other relatives and many friends.
Those preceding him in death include his parents; one son, Bradley Jay Ivey; and two grandsons, Hunter and Mason Ivey.
Wib was a devoted husband, caring father and fun-loving grandfather. The needs of his family always came first. He was selfless and kind. He was generous and genuine. Wib was the kind of person you could meet once and remember forever. He had the patience of Job and the strength of Samson. We will miss him here, but what a special gift to have someone in our lives that it's difficult to say "see you later" to. Our loss was certainly Heaven's gain.
