Wilbert “Bill” Johnson entered eternal rest at his residence on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the age of 69. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Wilbert was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, he continued his education with determination, earning an Associate of Arts in General Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix. He dedicated much of his professional career to Lockheed Martin, serving as a Network Computer Analyst in support of NASA’s Stennis Space Center. Known for his analytical mind and meticulous attention to detail, Bill approached every project with care and precision. His efforts earned him numerous certifications, security clearances, and awards, including the Lockheed Martin Award for Support of the SSME Test Complex, the NASA Award of Support for the MEI Project, and recognition for his role in the NASA Stennis Data Center Relocation. Beloved husband of the late Linda Johnson. Son of the late Rose Nell Johnson and Wilbert Smith. Grandson of the late Martha Austin. Brother of Gaynell Green (Michael), Irmanez Johnson and the late Bobby Nell Bush, Sherry Johnson, and Leona Watson. Bonus brother of Bertha Mitchell, Brandon Jackson, and Renee Jackson. Uncle of Terri Johnson, Geanell Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Charlene Watson, Lenez Johnson, Gerald Johnson, Joseph Bush, David Bush, and the late Joseph “Boo-Boo” Watson, and Darrione Singleton. Devoted friend Joyce Parker. Best friend of Steve McGee, also survived by a host of other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service at the parlor.
