Wilbur Lewis Coon, age 78, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 7th, 2025, at Holzer of Gallipolis. Wilbur was born October 15th, 1946, in Oak Hill, Ohio, to the late Wilfred and Irene (Radabaugh) Coon.
Wilbur retired in 2002 from Vesuvius as a lab technician, having worked for 36 years.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and his church.
Wilbur is survived by his children: Candi (Michael) Strickland, Bobby (Shelly) Coon, Billy (Patti) Coon, and Cindy (Dee) Castor; grandchildren: Christopher and Caleb Strickland, Cody, Devin, Steven, and Sara Coon, Brandon (Brooke) Coon, Megan (Damon) Ledford, Ryan (Katie) Coon, Hayden Coon, Matthew and Kelli Castor, and Allison (Joe) Castor; siblings, Judy Toland and Johnny Coon; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend and pastor, Burton Neace.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Coon; his sister, Nora Shephard; brother, David Coon; and two infant brothers.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 10th, 2025, from 11AM-2PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill with a service immediately after at 2PM with Pastor Butch Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
