Wilburn Fraser Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bolton Funeral Home - Columbiana on Nov. 11, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Wilburn Webb "Junior" Fraser went to be with Jesus on Sunday, November 9, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nannette McCranie Fraser; daughter Valerie Luesse (Dave); sister-in-law Linda Fraser; cousin Sarah Earnest; and nieces, nephews, and extended family whom he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn Lavern Fraser and Carrie Warton Eagar (Albert); brother Jimmy Fraser; and cousin Billy Dave Earnest.
Junior was born in Dresden, Tennessee, grew up primarily in Birmingham and Harpersville, Alabama, and graduated from Vincent High School. He retired from Kimberly-Clark in Childersburg, Alabama, where he was a paper maker and enjoyed lifelong friendships that he treasured. He joined First Baptist Church of Harpersville as a young man and remained a member all of his life. A Christian who saw his faith as a call to action, he never hesitated to help anyone in need, in any way that he could.
As long as he was able, Junior was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing and taking his family on trips to the woods for creek wading and picnicking. All children loved him, and he instilled in them an appreciation for the beauty and wonder of nature-and for ice cream eaten in the living room, with no concern for drips on the carpet. Junior embraced life with a sense of adventure and discovery that was contagious. And he gave everyone around him a lifetime of wonderful memories to cherish.
Services will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Harpersville, with visitation at 1:00 PM and a funeral at 2:00 PM Burial will immediately follow at Harpersville Municipal Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that you consider a donation to the Shelby Baptist Association Christmas Gift Shop, PO Box 888, Columbiana, AL, 35051. (Please write "Christmas Gift Shop Donation" in the memo on your check.) Or give online at SBA Christmas Gift Shop ( https://shelbybaptist.org/how-to-give/ ). Nothing would honor Junior more than bringing joy to children at Christmas.
