Will always think of Bill with fondness. Our families were in Argentina together. We enjoyed some fun times together. Jackie Coggin ( Simpkins)

I speak for many when I state that Dr. Stancil provided profound and meaningful scholarly interpretations of theological topics centered on biblical traditions and the state of the church. His invited participation in many church requested seminars gave wonderful insights with an informal, enjoyable and often humorous presentation style. We will miss you dear professor. Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory!

Like Christ, Dr. Stancil opened the Scriptures so that the hearts of many burned within them. His Southern charm and ever-present coffee cups made him a favorite and approachable professor to Rockhurst students of all faith traditions. I am thankful to have had him for 3 formative semesters of my college career. To speak with him in or outside the classroom was a crash course in Christian love. May perpetual light shine upon him, and may his family and friends know the far reaches of Dr. Stancil's kind example and the comprehensive knowledge of his faith that only comes with living it out on a daily basis. God bless Dr. Stancil.

Condolences to the Stancil family, colleagues, and friends. For a quarter of a century, Dr. Stancil was the Visiting Theologian at First Presbyterian Church in Independence, generally delivering four Sunday School-hour sessions during Lent. I do not remember missing any, but I surely did. His wisdom enabled us to discern and apply our discernments. His earthly presence is missed; his presence in our lives remains with us

Dr. Stancil was such a kind, sweet professor. He loved teaching and it showed. He was my theology professor at Rockhurst University. I worked with him editing books for the RU Press. I admired him so much. I loved his southern accent. My condolences to his family. What a great man. I know he will be greatly missed.
