Wildred P. Ougel, 90, a lifelong resident of Larose, LA, entered Heaven on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Visitation will be Friday, November 7, from 11AM until service time at 1PM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Larose. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1PM, with a graveside service and burial to follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Kirk Ougel (Kathy) and Ted Ougel (Larenda); daughters, Myra Ougel and Deborah O. Griffin (Jason); grandchildren, Colin Theriot (Emily), Reggie Ougel (Martha), Lauren Griffin, and Erin Theriot (Brandt); and great-grandchildren, Alli, Harold, Arthur, and Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Harold P. Ougel; parents, Sylvere and Ariana Punch; brothers, Antoine, Alvin, Nolise, Orice, and Raymond; and sisters, Eleanor, Eva, Mabel, Audrey, Rowena, Lelia, and Leona.
Wildred was a founding member and lifelong volunteer at The Larose Civic Center. She was a proud retired Postmaster of the United States Postal Service in Larose where she worked 30+ years. She was a member of both VFW Post 8538 Ladies’ Auxiliary and Our Lady of the Rosary Altar Society.
Wildred loved Mardi Gras, and was a founding member of the Krewe of Versailles. She had many hobbies, including her beautiful flower garden, genealogy, and volunteering for numerous community events.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Trustwell Living at Terrebonne Place for caring for Wildred for the last 3 years.
