Mack Hatmaker, 83, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, in Chattanooga, TN. Born on March 19, 1941, in Knoxville, TN, Mack lived a full and spirited life marked by dedication to his family, his music, and his unwavering faith.
Mack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Renate Hatmaker, with whom he shared 41 years of cherished memories; his daughter, Beverly Hatmaker; and his son, Nathan Hatmaker. He was the son of W.D. and Laura Sue Hatmaker and was also predeceased by his brothers, Wilbur and Willie Hatmaker, and his sisters, Helen Stooksberry, Betty Staton, and Shirley Bennett.
Mack's legacy continues through his daughter, Cindy Hatmaker; his son, Bob Hatmaker; and his stepson, Gary Spurling. He was a proud grandfather to Chad Elliott (Julie), Kayla Elliott, Stacey Haire, Megan Haire, Holly Hatmaker, Ryan Spurling, and Becky Spurling. His great-grandchildren and many other family members will also carry forward the light of his presence.
Throughout his life, Mack was an undefeated enthusiast of horseshoes, which brought laughter and joy to countless gatherings. His talents extended to music; he found solace and expression in playing guitar and singing. A strong believer in Christ, Mack's faith was the cornerstone of his existence. Mack lived a life of love, strength, and conviction, and his memory will be treasured forever by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM with the service to follow at Companion Funeral & Cremation Service. The interment will follow at Earl's Cemetery in McDonald, TN with Pastor Johnny Staton and Chaplin Doug Murray to officiate.
