Mrs. Carolyn Harris Hillman, age 77, of Leakesville, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, surrounded by what meant the most to her-her family. Born on March 28, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Mulford T. and Laura Harris.
Carolyn devoted 38 years of service to First State Bank in Leakesville where she retired as a senior account manager, where she was known for her dedication, warm smile, and kind spirit. Alongside her banking career, she also owned and operated a beauty shop from her home for many years, blessing many with not only her talents, but also her hospitality and friendship.
A faithful and committed member of Sweetwater Missionary Baptist Church, Carolyn found great joy in serving others. She especially loved running the church kitchen-making sure everyone was fed, cared for, and reminded of the love of Jesus. She had a special gift for making people feel welcomed and loved.
Carolyn enjoyed working in her yard, decorating anything and everything-especially with flowers-and cooking meals to share with family, friends, and neighbors. She believed in the beauty of simple things and the grace found in serving others.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 54 years, Don Hillman; her daughter, Tracie (Dean) Helton; sons, Austin (Sunny) Hillman and Andrew (Tracy) Bradley. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Alyssa (Heath) Eubanks, Charlcey Bradley, Randon (Raven) Bradley, Charlie Hillman, Collin Hillman, and Jackson (Whitney) Eubanks; and her great-grandchildren: Kellyn, Rilynn, Ander, and Linley Eubanks, Reaux Bradley, and Saylor Eubanks. She also leaves behind her siblings, Marolyn Harris Manning, Earnestean Harris Nicholson, Martha Harris Hardy, and Cecil Harris, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members whom she cherished deeply.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Bradley; and her brothers, Thomas Harris and Alton Harris.
Carolyn will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant's heart, her love for her family, and her ability to make any place feel like home. Her life was a beautiful testimony of love, generosity, and grace, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services celebrating her extraordinary life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Sweetwater Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2025 also at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asked that donations in memory of Carolyn be made to the Sweetwater Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
