William Curtis Stramp of Keller, Texas was a beloved son, brother, grandson, renowned athlete and friend. Through unfortunate circumstances, the family was notified of his passing in September of 2024 at the age of 36. Born May 29, 1986, in Houston to Rob and Andrea Stramp, the family made their home in Keller where he graduated high school. Known for his exceptional talent and passion for baseball, Will made a name for himself as a top recruit out of high school where he went on to play for Dallas Baptist University then transferring to Lubbock Christian University.
During the 2008-09 season, Lubbock Christian University played in the World Series, becoming the National Champions in 2009. Will achieved great success as an outfielder, earning accolades as the MVP of the World Series, and having 32 home runs and a batting average of .498 during the season. His talent on the field was undeniable, ultimately being drafted to the Cincinnati Reds. Yet, beyond his athletic prowess, William was cherished for his love of nature, the company of his family, and the camaraderie of his friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Rob and Andrea Stramp of Keller; siblings, Wade Stramp of Fort Worth and Becca Stramp of Dallas; and grandmother, Wilma Stramp of Spokane, Washington.
Will was preceded in death by his grandpa, Bill Stramp and grandmother, Jackie Sones.
Memorial services to honor William's life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 4:00 pm, inside the LCU Nursing Building, WR Collier Auditorium on the LCU Campus, 5601 19th Street. Memorial donations can be made to the LCU Advancement c/o LCU Baseball, 5601 19th Street, Lubbock, TX 79407. Let us come together to celebrate the legacy of William Stramp, his dedication and love for the game will forever be remembered by his teammates, coaches, and fans alike.
