Willa Humenick, 98, ascended to heaven at 11:28 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Villas of Holly Brook in East Alton. She was born December 8, 1927 in Girard, IL the daughter of the late Foster Rice and Effie Alan (Hylton) Harman. Willa was a member of Brown Street Baptist Church in Alton. She worked for many years as a production planner with Owens-Illinois. On December 26, 1967 in Alton, she married John Humenick and he preceded her in death on September 24, 1993. She enjoyed traveling with her sister Doris after they retired. Much of her time was spent playing golf and enjoying her family. Surviving are thirteen nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Foster, and six sisters, Minnie, Ruth, Virginia, Mary Ellen, Doris and Shirley.
No services are scheduled at this time. Memorials may be made to the Brown Street Baptist Church. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Additional information and online guestbook may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
